Disease, Air, and a Balanced Room

Most cannabis diseases are fungal or bacterial. Spores are common; wet, stale, acidic, or oxygen-starved rooms decide whether they win.

Disease, Air, and a Balanced Room — Marijuana Grower's Handbook, page 783
Full book

Why the room matters more than the spray

Ubiquity: spores and bacteria are already around most gardens.

Imbalance: temperature, moisture, light, airflow, and pH set susceptibility.

Fungi: they need moisture, a usable temperature, acidity, and a food source.

Bacteria: they gain when the plant or root zone is already compromised, including low oxygen.

Filter the intake

HEPA

captures many incoming fungal spores

UVC

a germicidal lamp in the duct is listed as a way to kill microbes and spores

Stack

the book says the two methods can be combined

Clothes

spores also ride in on people and pets, so filtration is not the only gate

Act on the environment first

Speed

once disease shows, restore balance quickly

Best fix

a balanced room is still the main solution

Water

wet leaves at lights-off are a repeated mold trigger later in the appendix

Air

stagnant, crowded canopies keep surfaces wet longer

Takeaways

Prevention: exclusion and climate beat rescue sprays.

Scout: small infections are the ones you can still reverse.

Tools: clean blades so you do not move spores cut to cut.

Scope: fungal and bacterial problems are the two buckets most of this appendix covers.
